Discover Ukraine: Volia – Our Fight, Our Freedom, Our Future
This event was a heartfelt celebration of Ukrainian culture, resilience, and resistance in the face of war and historical erasure. I organized it to share the beauty and spirit of modern Ukraine—through live music, a moving photo exhibit by war photographers Kostya & Vlada Liberovy, and traditional food and drinks—while raising awareness of our ongoing fight for identity and freedom.
Most importantly, this evening was dedicated to supporting my dear friend Dmytro, a Ukrainian combat medic who left his career to defend our homeland. Thanks to our community's generosity, we raised $3,120 CAD (91,155 UAH), which has already been sent to fund a CASEVAC vehicle for his unit.
Advocacy Day on the Parliament Hill
Honoured to participate in Advocacy Day on Parliament Hill, over 50 Ukrainian Canadian delegates united to advocate for military support and engage directly with Members of Parliament about the urgent needs of Ukraine.
Holodomor 90
The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, Carleton University's Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS), and the Carleton Ukrainian Students' Club collaborated on a significant event to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor, honoring the millions of Ukrainians who perished in the 1932-1933 man-made famine and underscoring its continued relevance as Russia’s actions against Ukraine echo past atrocities.
Unissued Diplomas
The "Unissued Diplomas" exhibit at Carleton University honored Ukrainian students whose lives were tragically cut short by Russia’s invasion, sharing stories of resilience and loss through an academic-led panel and a display in the university library, serving as a poignant reminder of Ukraine's ongoing fight for freedom.
